- 01Install Constellations from the App Store and open it. No account is needed.
- 02Tap Begin. The first nights show you each move, one at a time.
- 03Drag from star to star to draw a line, or tap one star and then another. Tap a line to remove it.
- 04Finish every number without crossing lines, and the figure lights up and joins your star atlas.
/// What do the numbers mean?
A star's number is how many lines it still needs. When a star has all its lines it turns gold. If it has too many, its number turns red and shows how many to remove.
/// What are the dim stars and the blue lines?
Dim stars are decoys: they never take a line, but they block any line that would pass through them. Blue lines are starting lines that come with the night; they're part of the answer and can't be removed.
/// I'm stuck. Is there a hint?
Yes, hints are free and unlimited. A hint first points out any line that isn't part of the answer, then draws the next correct line and explains why.
/// How do I play the big skies on iPhone?
Pinch to zoom in. While zoomed, drag on empty sky to look around; a drag that starts on a star always draws. Tap the fit button to see the whole sky again.
/// Is my progress backed up?
Progress is saved on your device. There is no account or cloud sync yet, so deleting the app deletes your progress.
/// Are there ads or in-app purchases?
No. This version of Constellations is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
