Space Invaders is a retro arcade game. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and what controls you have.

The app collects two categories of data: data stored locally on your device (game settings and preferences) and data transmitted to our servers (your player profile and high scores for the global leaderboard).
/// Leaderboard & Player Profile
To power the global leaderboard, the app sends the following information to our servers: a randomly generated device identifier (player_id), your chosen in-game username, your country code (derived from your device locale), basic device metadata (operating system, OS version, device model, and device brand), and your high score along with the phase reached and difficulty level. This data is used solely to display scores and associate them with a player.

Game settings — including difficulty level, language preference, username, audio toggles, highest phase unlocked, and selected spaceship skin — are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device.
/// Crash Reporting
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports and error logs. This data helps us identify and fix technical issues. Crashlytics may collect device state information at the time of a crash. No personally identifiable information is intentionally included in crash reports.
/// Permissions
Space Invaders does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or location. The app accesses your device locale only to determine your country code for the leaderboard and to select your default language.
/// Third-Party Services
The app integrates with Supabase (leaderboard and player profiles) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting). These services have their own privacy policies. No advertising networks or behavioral tracking SDKs are included.
/// Data Deletion
Local game data can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of your leaderboard data and player profile from our servers, contact us at [email protected] with the subject line 'Space Invaders Data Deletion'. We will remove your data within 30 days.
/// Children's Privacy
Space Invaders is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through the app, please contact us so we can remove it.
